Parishioners Rod and Marty Phillips have wonderfully captured the scenes of our Parish Confirmation last Sunday at our 10:30 Mass. It was truly a “Feast of Faith” for the whole parish. The lighted candles the Candidates carry symbolize their Baptism in Jesus Christ. As confirmed Catholics now they have been fully initiated as Christians.

Congratulations once again to the Confirmandi, to their Sponsors, and to their families. As they go on with their lives may they always be faithful to the promises of their Baptismal Vows, sealed in the Holy Spirit by their Confirmation.

About Our Parish

Mary Immaculate of Lourdes is Newton and Needham Massachusetts's oldest Roman Catholic Parish. Founded as Saint Mary's Parish in 1870 it was renamed "Mary Immaculate of Lourdes" when the new Church was dedicated on Thanksgiving Day, 1910. In addition to being a regular territorial parish of the Archdiocese of Boston it is also a "Mission Parish" since 2007 with a special apostolate for the Traditional Latin Mass (1962 Missal).
